You could write or illustrate an AU where Korra is born there and how it may change her upbringing? Lotus might not have found her parents so quick!

That sounds like a fairly interesting AU! It'd be cool to see her and Sokka as 'swamp benders'!

Especially since she'd be socially isolated in a different way, assuming they stay isolated when they realise they've got an avatar! I think it would have been a cool take on it.

I feel like they modernized the world too quickly.

I thought that at first, but if you take into account that the Fire Nation had some relatively advanced tech, it makes sense. All that would have happened was that post-peace they would have shared it, which would have made the advancements happen faster.

I mean I'm not really okay with the giant robot, and the mechas only kiiiind of squeaked by for me. But other than that, I can see it.

That was what I wanted when Korra was first announced. That, or have Korra born in the Northern Water Tribe, which I'm sure still has sexist opinions regarding women learning waterbending.
