Have you seen The Birds?

(Anonymous) 2015-10-28 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
YOU SHUT YOUR DAMN MOUTH.

i hate the Birds too, because the original ending is a million times better. Plus I HATE HATE HATE that stupid song the kids sing while the birds are lurking on the monkey bars. That song drives me insane.

This was just what I was coming to ask. lol

Agreed, but I have a bias because I'm more of a fan of his earlier work anyway.

Still bitter that no one has a clue what I'm talking about when I bring up any film of his made before the 1950s...

Not sure about when it was made, but I do like I Confess. Mostly because (a) Montgomery Clift!, and (b) I've been to the Chateau Frontenac, and I got a kick out of seeing it onscreen.

If that's his worst film, then he was a talented director indeed.

My favorite Anthony Perkins movie is The Trial, though.

It's not.

Try Waltzes from Vienna or The Farmer's Wife and come back to FS.

Mm, I think The Birds is weaker, but I agree that it's not one of the stronger ones. Rear Window or Vertigo takes the cake for me.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-28 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Vertigo is amazing.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-28 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I know I'm in the minority but Vertigo is my least fave Hitchcock movie. I especially feel sorry for Barbara Belgeddes' character in it, Jimmy Stewart's character treats her like shit through the whole movie for not looking like his fucking fantasy. And he treats "Judy" almost as badly.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-28 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
I would say "Marnie" is his weakest film.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-28 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Not Vertigo? Because holy shit that movie was boring until she "died" and the ending was too sudden for me.
