Do you think prison rape should be included when discussing rape statistics?

It is a different level of crime, though. It's not going to happen to innocent by standards. In fact I might go so far as to say that if we're not willing to execute rapist prison rape is unavoidable, and as such how does it help anyone to water down the rape statistics with something that only affects really bad people and can not be combated?

I know you are just a moronic troll, but you do know wrongfully accused people exist? Also, that the many, many, many black men are given unfairly harsh sentences because of racism.

So, I can only assume that you hate black people and want them punished for their skin color.

Your reply was childish. How about calming down and not conflating issues. Prisons have differing issues than the non prison world. It is not unreasonable to address those two very different environments separately. Crime statistics affect public policy and resource allocation. Artificially inflating non prison rape statistics means taking resources away from other problems without addressing the issues in the penal system.

We sentence criminals to X number of years in prison. We do not sentence them to X number of years of rape.

We kinda do. We, the judicial system, and the criminals know on a cultural level that that is what prison is like. They choose to commit the crimes that have them put in that environment, and we send them there without remorse. It's even considered to be an additional level of punishment.

There are no circumstances in which rape is excused, justified, or lessened.

Ok that was a very nice poem. A+ effort! but you do realise that not everyone who wants to talk about rape is a redfem, right?

Given that you are literally claiming that rape of (implied male, since that's the only kind of "prison rape" anyone ever refers to) prisoners is somehow less important than other forms of rape and shouldn't be counted in rape statistics, you're definitely a radfem.

But rape and prison rape are two very different animals. Aren't you concerned that it can be used to skew the averages given that it cannot ever be combatted?

Actually, your wrong there. Prison rape doesn't have much of an effect on the female rape survivor statistic, This won't be popular, but it mostly affects the number of male rape victims. Without including prison rape, male victims are clocking in at around 1/140 (can't remember the actual statistic, but it was somewhere in that ballpark) With including them it becomes closer to 1 in 70 (ish. I want to say 72, but please don't hold me to that) Women hover between 1 in 8 down to and 1 in 5 (in america I don;t know what the world wide statistics are and I don't want to know.)
