Okay, so how does someone go about finding an honest, non-malicious person willing to make an assessment?

Not strangers on the internet, for sure.

Besides, nobody is omnipotent and omniscient, even if honest and non-malicious.

Well, in places where assisted suicide or euthanasia is legal, isn't it only legal in cases involving terminal illness? Like, the person deciding whether you're ill enough to die and avoid the excruciating physical pain or mental or physical deterioration that would end in death anyway is a doctor/panel of doctors, and if the illness in question is depression rather than, say, stage iv inoperable cancer, a doctor's going to get you help to live, not help you die. If you think you're a bad person because you start every day with a human baby sandwich and then go off and stomp puppies to death underfoot for 8 hours with brief breaks to shoot at old grannies with a machine gun, go turn yourself in and maybe a grand jury will decide you're worth killing. Otherwise, it's likely the depression talking. I've been there, sometimes my mind goes back for a visit, and it sucks every time. Good luck drowning the depression out, and it's okay to ask for help.
