Transcript: [Show logos for American Horror Story and The Walking Dead]
"I really want to watch and like these shows, but they're so boring IMO."

(Anonymous) 2015-10-29 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I dropped Walking Dead because it was boring.

My problem with American Horror Story wasn't that, but that I hate watching shows where everyone is a horrid person. I get grey morality, and I love villains, but when everyone is fucking horrible, I see no point in it.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-29 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I avoid shows like this for the same reason. Having too many horrible characters depresses me.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-29 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Then why do you want to watch them?

(Anonymous) 2015-11-03 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
Because lots of people are talking about them and I want to be involved in fandom.

Don't watch Fear The Walking Dead then. You'll fall into a coma from boredom.

AHS is different for each season unless it's weird creepy horror you find boring then it's just not your genre?

TWD I've no interest in so can't comment lol.

I love creepy horror, I'm just having a lot of trouble getting through the first season because I kinda don't care about the main characters. I could do without the rape as well.

I really loved the first season of AHS, but I've had mixed feelings since then. I didn't finish Asylum or Freak Show (though I started out loving Freak Show, it didn't last), and although I finished Coven and certainly didn't hate it, I don't have strong feelings about it.

As for Hotel, I've still only seen the first episode and I thought it was one of the better AHS episodes in quite a while, so I might catch up eventually, but it isn't exactly the sort of show everyone is going to be interested in.

As for TWD, you either like it or you don't. I don't find it boring in the least (when it's good, obviously every show has bad episodes, sometimes even bad seasons, so I can't say it has always been perfect) but if it doesn't work for you that's okay. (I love the character drama, but I also love the zombie killing. Sometimes the slower episodes are my favorites, and sometimes I hate them. The Governor centric episodes, for example...those were fucking awful and I'm never watching them again. It all depends on who's being focused on and what's happening. Even Daryl's been boring at times.)

American Horror Story is neither horror nor a story. That is all.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-30 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I get you. I tried watching American Horror Story Coven because witches! but I couldn't finish it. I just looked up the summary online to see what happens. But, I LOVE me some TWD. Not everyone will like it though, so I get that.

I seriously can't figure out how people could see TWD as boring. I spend the whole hour in a state of stress waiting to see what crazy ass thing is going to happen. It takes me an hour to recover from episodes like the one last week. Best show on TV right now.

I agree! It really is! I can't help but watch to see how much shit the crew get into and who will get their face eaten off! lol And last Sunday was intense. I'm a little bummed for a slower Morgan-centric episode this week, but it's sixty minute episode so I'll deal.
