Well, pfft of course. Calvin & Hobbes pwn everything.

I just don't see why it's bad to like Garfield but not C&H (as I assume the OP was implying people do? I don't get why they'd be comparing them otherwise. Why not C&H vs Peanuts, for example?). I can see the superior quality in lots of things but it doesn't mean I automatically will love them best.

Personally, it's the people giving me puzzled looks and going "but I just don't get how Calvin and Hobbes is funny". I really don't begrudge people for liking things that are silly and half-assed (); my problem is the ones who fail to realize that these things are silly and half-assed, and accept them for that. If I have to try and explain why The Importance of Being Earnest has earned its place in English literary canon while PS: I Love You is one of those books that actually deserves to be burned one more time (to people studying literature at the university level)...
