I agree. Which is why I think this needs to be told as a recollection. Then I could also blame the bad characterization on Sendhil's faulty memory and humourous exaggerations.

I think that is a marvelous plan. Except that I wouldn't say Sendhil's memory would be especially faulty so much as wanting to make his conquest sound more... impressive.

I think Marat Safin is impressive enough in and of itself (although, hm, would Zach know who that is?), but I know what you mean. Sendhil seems the type to exaggerate, if only to watch Zach's reactions.
