You're arguing with a person who "doesn't trust statistics", so you're gathering more statistics based on anecdotal evidence? First of all, your friend likely has some kind of agenda behind why he doesn't trust statistics, so ALL information that doesn't fit in with his preconceived notions of what's accurate will be rejected for one reason or another. Secondly, anecdotal evidence is an even LESS reliable source of information.

There is nothing about this that is a good idea.
