Yes to all of this. I've seen half of the final season and I'm bummed that the boys have barely hung out -- like, do they have any idea what makes the show appealing? As much as I like watching Famke Janssen vamp it up, that's not the main event.

This is part of why I don't even feel like finishing it. I thought after S2 the writers would go back to focusing on Peter and Roman's relationship, especially given this is the final season, but I think they actually gave them LESS scenes then in S2. (Which is almost impressive.)

Like, I love to hate Famke Janssen in this, and I'm a big fan of Shelley and Destiny, and even Pryce has grown on me a lot, but...it isn't enough to make me want to finish.

S3 is such a fvcked up mess that I'm sorry I watched it. So much stupid it made my brain hurt. Shelley is the only one that got a halfway decent resolution.

Olivia & Destiny got way too much screen time.

Honestly, I would enjoy the show a lot more if that was what it was about. I think part of the reason the fans (lol, the few fans who exist) responded to it in the first place was because of their relationship, so of course they decided to almost completely drop it after S1.

Don't get me wrong, when they have scenes together they tend to be good (even if those scenes aren't exactly what I hoped for... IA, after that S1 speech about "stealing the love from your heart" they should've just put the two of them together and had them 'fight crime', would've made more sense), but there aren't enough of them. In S3 especially they spend almost all their time apart and rarely talk about what's going on. Peter has almost nothing to do with the supernatural plot at mid-season, and Roman is repeating himself in all the ways I don't want. It's frustrating because if the show writers had kept to the S1 formula I think I would've loved it, but at this point I don't even want to finish S3.

I agree. The showrunners seem to have missed what fans were tuning in for. The whole weird friendship with homoerotic overtones made the first season, and conflict made sense in season 2... but season three should've had them teaming up to accomplish a larger goal.

Glad I'm not the only one. When my friend made me watch the show, she thought he was hot, and I pointed out that he looked like a young Steve Buscemi, and now she can't unsee it and I feel like a terrible person.

In my headcanon, that's exactly what's happening and I'm okay with it.

And the plot on the whole isn't making a lot of sense, but I like that too. I see the plot more as a complex and unpredictable entity than a set of arcs and have stopped looking for rounded endings and answers. The feel of the half crazy universe is point in itself. A little like the landscape felt like a living entity in True Detective.
