Hey now, Phyllis might come off as a salty jerkass, but she mellowed out considerably in 'New Leaf' when compared to the older AC games. Or so I noticed, anyways. She's still salty (albeit overwhelmed with her job), but nowhere near as nasty as she was compared to the first game. Then again, they even softened Mr. Resetti in ACNL, so make of that what you will.

IIRC, in ACNL, you could befriend various notable NPCs (like Sable), and I honestly would have liked to see that with Phyllis. Maybe she wouldn't soften up completely, but I think maybe she just needs a friend or something.
