I feel like this fandom is like, made of juggernauts. Every pairing is a juggernaut, and frankly most of them involve Pearl, so I'm glad Amethyst is getting more love at least.

Agreed! I never was into Amethyst with any of the Crystal Gems so the 'default' shipping involving her disappointed me some. But now there's Amedot and Amethyst/Vidalia and I'm thrilled!
