I also like white-dude slash. (Not exclusively but probably predominantly.)

This is the case for me too, though it isn't an intentional thing; there's just more white dudes in media.

Agreed on your first point too, though. The world needs more feel good media.

That's my reason too. There are a few ships I have that might get some side-eye for being 2 white guys where there's another option but I have enough inter-racial ships that I think I can safely say it's more a case of there aren't enough POC characters in the media I like.

Eh, for most people shipping is about chemistry and character dynamics...if you like the way two characters interact and fit together there's nothing wrong with it. I have interracial ships that I love too, but there are times when I don't ship the interracial pairing. (Like with Steve/Sam in the MCU. I love their friendship but I was shipping Steve/Bucky in the first film, so my mind was already made up when I went into TWS.)

Yeah, it's chemistry/dynamics for me too. I don't ship Shawn/Gus in Psych and do ship Shawn/Lassiter, which is usually the go-to example for arguments regarding only liking white guys and there being racism involved. But it's totally the dynamic for me between Shawn&Gus and Shawn&Lassiter on why I'm shipping one and not the other.

But Psych's not even a huge show for me, and I have tons of ships with POC characters with interesting dynamics and characters that I ship with passion. It's just irritating to be "called out" for not shipping this one ship and it being such an indictment of fandom.

(Meanwhile, I'm still shipping Steve with Coulson because of the one interaction they had in Avengers so I've got two strikes on that one since it's almost pairing the spares. I haven't seen anything in Phase 2 though.)
