...it depends on the origin and purpose of the conversation, though. If someone is talking about women's issues/feminism and someone butts in with "but men have it just as haaaard!" then yeah, it's perfectly fair to say "patriarchy" and move on. I agree that it's obnoxious to butt into conversations about men's issue and say "but patriarchy!" to try to shut it down, but it's also definitely possible to frame men's issues in such a way that diminishes women's issues and the reality of sexism, so I can understand why people step in.

And to tell the truth, many of men's issues do come from patriarchy - that's definitely a thing.
