For me it depends on what they're rebooting tbh. Like The Golden Compass series is being rebooted into a BBC mini series - cool, fine, it's roughly ten years after the movie and few people remember it. Netflix has an ASOUE series - great, it's been eleven years, the movie wasn't all that terrible, but this will be better.

I don't necessarily dig rebooting stuff that's 30 and 40 years old that was sucessful, even if I understand why. Reboot shit from the past fifteen years that failed and give it a new chance.

Same. If there's a 30 year old movie that was an excellent movie and well done, I don't think there's any need to reboot it, unless there really is something shiny and new to say about the material. But there's no reason to throw all movies made more than 10 years ago out the window and refuse to watch them.
Like you say, if we must have reboots, better do it in cases where a good idea/story was ruined (THEDARKISRISINGCOUGH).
