Obviously saving money helps. If I could save money I wouldn't be in this situation. I'm renting a room in a house and it's awkward as hell but it's the only thing I can afford and still be able to buy food for me and the dog. I just want an apartment. I've given up on ever owning anything.

Sorry. I'm just really frustrated. I just got a new position with a one dollar an hour up bump in pay that I thought would help, but that bumps me up so that I make enough I have to pay for health insurance, which takes half my monthly income, the other half going to rent and gas and food (barely). So really my raise in pay makes it so that I'm actually taking home less than I was before.

I'm with you. At this point, I don't care if I have electricity or decent as long as I have my own place.
