Well the cheapest wedding I've ever been to was my brother's and he managed to pull it off for around $4000.00 all told.

The photos were done by a professional, but in a public graveyard (yes, my brother and his wife are alternative like that).

They rented a community centre, the food was all pot luck, the sound equipment was all rented, the dress was second hand...

Otherwise, I think you're probably going to be spending some cash if you want a ceremony.

I don't doubt we will, and we're prepared to on some things. But like I said, I already know a few places we're gonna save money. I have a dress already, my mother adores doing pro-quality hair and make-up. I also think I know a church where we could have both ceremony and reception, and it comes with a kitchen right off it. (I used to go there, but haven't for some time due to health reasons.) So it's not like we're going for ultra lavish. Just, you know, our backyard doesn't cute it due to unpredictable weather and sizes, the house we're living in (which isn't ours--family's putting us up until we can find our own place) is... Not ideal.

We're gonna cut corners where we can. But there's some things that don't need to be cut on or shouldn't, because you're getting your money's worth in most cases with photography because any photographer with a good portfolio isn't slacking off. They're putting a ton into that set.
