There's a game a friend and I used to play called "Such A Thing?" It's a set of cards with vague criteria on them ("can be found in a city," "is usually made of metal," "would not be damaged by cold," etc.). There were variations on how to play, but the basic idea is that everyone gets a hand of cards and you go around the table playing them one by one. The catch is, you can only play a card if you can think of an object that fits it and every other card already in play, and if none of your cards work you have to draw more. You keep your object secret (and can change it at any time as different cards adjust the criteria), but any player can call your bluff and demand that you justify your play if they don't believe there's 'such a thing' that fits what you played. First player to get rid of all their cards wins. My friend and I mostly stopped playing because of the arguments that it caused, but from what you've posted about your family you guys are probably better at having friendly game fights than we were.

Oh! That actually looks pretty good for a game I can bring on the road. And because it requires no specific item, the possibilities are endless!
