What above anon said. Tell her it hurt you and made you feel even more lousy. She's trying to take the "hardass" approach - the buck up, buddy, you're fine, you're not going to do it so stop. That's rarely helpful. But don't let yourself spiral into a competition with her, don't feel like you have to "prove" her wrong.

It can be scary for a friend to be in that position, because saying the right thing to a friend who says their suicidal can be hard.
