Weird fandom thoughts

(Anonymous) 2015-11-05 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
I write fanfiction for a RPS fandom. And sometimes, something I wrote will happen irl. Like, I'll write an actor saying a sentence and then they'll say it in an interview, or I'll use a plot point related to the actor's career that will later become real.

I alternate between thinking it's a coincidence, being freaked out, and feeling proud that I've analyzed this actor's personality and their career path well enough to get so many details right.

I don't write RPS, but I've pretty much given up on trying to be original in my fandom, because every time I have an idea, it turns up in an episode later down the road.

Haha. I write wrestling fic and sometimes I accurately predict or allude to future storylines. I've just done it again recently and I'm pretty excited by it.

I tend to be disinclined to believe much in coincidence, so I would ascribe to the third - you're perceptive enough of their personality and career moves to predict them.
