The only thing I am worried about with Dixit is ability to replay. Do you find that it gets boring if played with the same people?

I've had that problem with it. I've also found that playing with my family didn't work too well, because we all have too similar a sense of humor and associations.

Dixit's base game is less replayable because there are so few cards (this is okay if you have a lot of other game options and don't play Dixit every weekend). Once you have added 2+ expansion decks to Dixit, it is insanely replayable. I have 2, and it works great with my group of friends. My brother-in-law is very serious about games (more on this later, I will be making you a big-ass rec list) has at least 6 expansions and playing with his version is utterly insane. Soooo manyyy caaardsss. So playing this with the same 6 members of my family, always really different.

we bought it and it's true that it gets kinda boring. playable and easy for people who don't play much, but yeah.

here's a review site I trust which says "Mysterium" is basically the same game, but more polished:

they loved dixit at first, but liked this one better.

Dixit is great (especially with expansion decks), but Dixit is generally a light game. We like to wind down with it after playing something more complex/strategy-based/dark.

Mysterium is one of those deeper and more involved games. It's not light! Being the ghost will drive you crazy, because you are never supposed to speak. The co-op style is both good (you need the help) and frustrating (everyone is guessing the wrong things!) We might try the Ghost Board option at some point in the future. And since this is kind of an important distinction, we played the Ukrainian version.
