This is a factual statement. I know people who could not properly punctuate those sentences. So, indeed, you are not that bad of a writer and there are people worse than you by any objective measure of writing ability.

I grade papers for a living. The fact that you put together two coherent sentences that don't make me want to gauge my eyes out means half my students are worse writers than you.
