Most of the suggestions so far are good! I feel like Catan is kind of the king of board games, the good old standby. Munchkin is funny, and so is Fluxx--Fluxx is great fun because the rules keep changing.

I like watching Wil Wheaton's 'Tabletop' show on the youtube Geek and Sundry channel. If there's a game you're interested in but unsure of, they probably played it on the show; you can watch the episode and see if it looks fun to you or 'nah, not my style'. Also easier to learn the rules when you can see it played. :D He explains the game at the beginning of each episode, so you can watch just the starts if you want an overview. ^^

Oooh. I like that is changes and is fairly cheap.

And yeah, I've been watching that channel. It has been very informative!
