I still don't quite understand people who disparage picking and choosing from your religious text of choice. If they can point me to the official correct translation of the bible free of any political decisions about what should be included or not and how certain things should be said then maybe I'll consider following it in its entirety. But I'm pretty sure there's always going to be some element of choice involved, so I have trouble seeing how there's a clear line where picking and choosing from multiple translations is okay but picking and choosing from multiple interpretations is wrong.

But I'm going off-topic here.

Yup. And also, I generally tend to think that certain references should be taken in context of the time, and books like Leviticus are generally mostly ignored anyway so why pick out a few verses to insist everyone needs to follow. But either way, given how often the Bible talks about poverty and wealth and taking advantage of people and judging others compared to the few references that may possibly be about homosexuality, the disproportionate nature of the focus is ludicrous.
