not op, but the game sounds kind of smug according to the major twists that have been spoiled everywhere- some of the sprites look weird to me as well. Then again actual dialogue examples sounded nice and down to earth, aside from that trash joke.

I thought it would be one of those games that tries to trick or bait you into doing horrible shit, then calls you a sicko for it. I irrationally hate it because every artist I followed on tumblr for various fandoms only draw for this flavor of the month now. I've never witnessed a series sweep absolutely everyone up like this before, not even SU. Nothing about it looks appealing to me.

Not OP, but if you're on Tumblr at all, they love beating everything into the ground akin to a dead horse. I don't want to play the game either, just because it seems like everyone is.

Hey! Jeff Vogel makes fun stuff! Archaic as hell and I kind of wish he'd push more new stuff rather than remixing the old worlds (although Avernum WAS good), but come on. If you're nostalgic, he's a damn good source for an old school crawl.

Vogel's always been bitter over making games where you "Look around for peope who look different from you, break into their homes, kill them, take their stuff, sell it, and use the money to buy better weapons to kill a higher class of people who look different from you." After Geneforge tried something different and didn't sell as well, it really started to leak into his other games, and it got to the point where I was sick of the games implying I was evil for taking sidequests to kill things.

I'm honestly surprised this game doesn't get a similar bad rap for being (very) well liked on tumblr like what happens to other stuff.

I haven't seen social justice harassment related to Undertale yet, which is unusual for a Tumblr fave. I expect it will eventually explode over what race the skeletons should be headcanoned as, and then people will start complaining about how "awful" the fandom is and move on to the next thing.
