Text: It really annoys me how differently the fandom treats Frank and Bonnie. They did the exact same thing (murder an innocent girl in cold blood) yet with Frank it's all "he's hot so who cares lol" and with Bonnie it's "never forgive and never forget!"

Do give examples of the drama, or links. I must read!

That's disappointing, but not entirely surprising. Bonnie was one of my favorite characters back when I watched the show. (Which didn't last long, but there you go. I never liked Frank.)
If they both murdered an innocent person they deserve the same kind of treatment, but that's fandom for you.

I didn't hate the show and I think it had potential, but even though I liked the flashbacks at first they eventually got tiresome and none of the cast jumped out as being terribly likable (no, not even because of the murder thing) so it was kind of a chore to keep up with.

Frank killed Lila, then Bonnie killed Rebecca whom she thought was Lila's killer (and also so she wouldn't squeal about the students taping her to a chair and to prevent her from bringing any trouble Annalise's way). Now, considering Frank killing Lila was the catastrophic catalyst of Rebecca's untimely death, Sam's untimely death, the innocent man's incorrect imprisonment, and in recent turns of event, the death of a prosecutor who had it out for Annalise's blood because of all of this hoorah. Bonnie wouldn't have killed anyone if not for Frank, as well. I'd say Frank is a massive asshole, but Sam is an even worst one for getting Lila pregnant. So I don't get why anyone would laugh off Frank's actions when mostly everything is all his fault.
(I might be biased because I like Bonnie, but, look at the facts.)

I forget, did Frank kill Lila at Sam's request, or did he make that decision on his own? Either way he's a massive asshole (doesn't seem a fitting word tbh, what with killing a pregnant girl and all) for going through with it, but I don't see how Bonnie is somehow a worse person in this situation. What she did clearly wasn't right either but it isn't any worse.
I suppose the fandom might feel that way because Rebecca was around for longer than Lila so the audience had more time to connect with her, but tbh I didn't see a lot of Rebecca love in the first place, so people probably just hate Bonnie.
IDGI either.

I don't in the least mind that he died because dude deserved it.
Frank is still a horrible person, but it feels slightly less awful knowing he wasn't aware of the pregnancy. (I mean, he still killed a girl for no good reason, but...)

(Anonymous) 2015-11-07 02:24 am (UTC)(link)She apparently pushed the ada from the top of the tower, and people were cheering her on and posting her head on top of the hell's elmo gif.
The only criticism she's gotten is for the way she treated Asher when she's a cold-blooded murderer.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-07 02:39 am (UTC)(link)But he's so boring! Even he's shadiness is so OTT and random like that it doesn't manage to make him interesting.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-07 03:39 am (UTC)(link)Bonnie, on the other hand...I won't argue that she is indeed equally creepy (she was so...cold...in how she killed Rebecca, it gave me chills), and I sure as hell wouldn't dare want to get on her bad side.
But she's got this sort of vulnerability about her that makes me feel for her a bit, too. I said to someone yesterday that she reminds me of Norma from "Bates Motel" in some ways. Both deeply fucked up and unstable women in so many ways, but they can somehow still evoke some sort of sympathy despite whatever horrible decisions they make.
And I LOVE her whole weird dynamic with Annalise, and I think her quiet demeanor works well as a contrast to all the crazy, creepy things she can do. I think she's really come into her own this season, and it's been fascinating to see her character develop.
I also think she's good at knowing how to handle Asher's doofy behavior, which helps :D.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-07 04:37 am (UTC)(link)To me, it seems like Frank is understood to be the "muscle" of the operation. Annalise isn't paying him to sit around and do nothing--he gets his hands dirty--he's supposed to.
Bonnie however, she's intense, she's got all these feelings and intentions for the reasons she does things. It's never just a pay check for her. She has no "actual" reason to get her hands dirty. There are seemingly (seemingly--and I say seemingly because perhaps Frank has other motives as well) more complex relationships between Bonnie and Annalise which drive her to commit murder.
I excuse no one. And perhaps the fandom is sexist, and they want a effigy to burn that they feel doesn't takeaway from the general equation...so it's easier to hate Bonnie than Frank.
I think I lost my train of thought. Re-reading your secret, I'd be annoyed too.
But it may be (for some) that Bonnie commits crimes of passion, as it were, and in some form or another (at least I feel this way) she keeps fucking up; obviously all murders are uncalled for, but hers are too much). Frank does as he's told. He's paid. that's it. Bonnie goes too far. That might be it. Or the fans just want to ogle Frank.
