Weekend Plans

Well, my sister is still really sick (and the doctor's said they have NOT ruled out meningitis), so I will be taking care of her all weekend. She can't keep anything down so I will be plying her with toast while trying to deal with her being irritable.

What is everyone else doing?

Hoping to write a lot, both for my NaNo novel and for a term paper. Also reading a lot, mostly for the term paper.

I should get some cleaning done too.

I'm so sorry to hear your sister's sick! You are a good sibling to take care of her. Try to make space and time for yourself, too--taking care of someone who's really sick can be exhausting, and you need to look out for yourself, too. All good wishes; I hope they find out what's wrong and can help get her better soon.

Thank you. I actually made her come to my house this time so that I can hang out in my room a bit when she does not immediately need me. I just hope she can start eating stuff soon. She is pretty miserable because she can't.

I'm going to Nottingham for the Malaysian games (basically Malaysian students around the UK gathering for sports and food - very Malaysian). I won't be participating in anything, but I hope to meet new people and walk around Nottingham for a bit, it's been a good ten years since I was there last and I can't wait to see it again!

Job hunting. Still.

Bleh. I think I'd have much better luck outside of my hometown (I have international experience and an MA... which means very little in a small town) but my sister is pregnant and almost due, my brother's getting married, and I just feel like it "makes sense" to be here for awhile. Except for the fact that I'm unemployed and crashing at my parents' until I find a job. I'm going crazy, there's just so little to do in this town besides entry-level jobs that will never ever cover my student loan bills. I just want to take off and be international again.

For myself, I'll be booking indoor climbing and a table at some restaurant for the boyfriend's birthday. The other girlfriend and I have had difficulty coming up with something to do, but hopefully this will work out.

I will also go home to Dad on sunday as it is Father's Day here in Sweden.

Babysitting my nephew for the night, qnd probably going to be up replotting my novel all night instead of sleeping. After he goes home, I'm probably gonna nap, take a hit of acid, and then write like crazy until it wears off. Failing that, I'll smoke a bowl and write all night. Either way, there will br drugs and my NaNoWriMo word count will get caught up.

going to hear The Magic Flute with ex-boyfriend. IDK why I even suggested it to him, so I went yesterday by myself, because I wanted to hear it without him being all clever and ironic about it. Now I feel I can enjoy it without giving a fuck about his opinion. but I found myself thinking that poor Tamino's trials should have included overcoming his obligatory vapidity. (Not his fault; it comes with the territory of being Prince Charming.) I hadn't realized how much Papageno owns this show, though it makes perfect sense.

I'm hoping to do some writing and to go see Spectre with a friend. She loves the James Bond movies and didn't have anyone else to go with her. Maybe the movie will help me with some writer's block I've been having. I could write a spy AU for my OTP.

Hope your sister is feeling better being sick sucks and it sounds like she's really sick. I have a bit of a cold so I don't think I'll be doing much of anything. Probably catching up on Nanowrimo since I've missed a couple days. Going out to dinner tomorrow with friends is the only plan I actually have. My best friend wants to come over sometime. If not I'll probably catch up on TV instead or if I'm really feeling up to it finishing Final Fantasy IV since I'm in the final chapter. Honestly I want to sleep off this cold for a couple days tbh.

That's terrible. Hope she feels better soon. I was a little sick myself this week, but I'm just grateful that it's over now. Looking forward to getting some rest tomorrow. I'm going to work on some fanart, then maybe catch up on some chores.
