Does anyone else hate this Buffy arc?

I'm watching Buffy for the first time. I hate her college boyfriend military guy, Robert? I hate the robot guy. I hated it so much that I turned it off and I haven't watched it since. When will this be over?

I'd say skip to the last episode of season 4 and watch from there.

Or alternatively, if you REALLY had the military boyfriend, he goes away midway through season 5, so you can watch starting from the episode after "Into the Woods" but the plot is already underway by then so it might be a little confusing.

Everyone hates Riley. Season 4 is my favourite season in spite of him.

Lots of people hate Riley. I don't, but to each their own. (I will however defend him from hateful mischaracterization.)

You are not alone. I like the final two episodes of this season as well as the smatterings of Willow/Tara stuff, but that's about it.

Eh, not everyone hates Riley (I don't - objectively I think he was probably the best of her love interests) but a lot of people did. It wasn't a popular arc. If you hate him that much, he disappears halfway through season five. But skipping past the rest of season four (although please don't skip ''Hush'' or ''Restless'') would get you past MOST of the Riley drama and all of the Adam shit.
