My weekly Spotify recommends playlist tends to serve up some odd things. I've gotten mediaval techno, French "clowncore", metal polka and so on, but best, weirdest and most fun this week is Russkaja. Russian ska from Austria ( or as they call it, Turbo polka).

For weirdness-- of music, but especially of music videos-- I've loved iamamiwhoami for years. Back when they were an anonymous band and people were speculating about who was behind it; it's Swedish singer-songwriter Jonna Lee and producer Claes Björklund, but people were guessing everything from the Knife to Christina Aguilara.

I'm Swedish - how did I not know of this?! Oh right, it's because I stopped listening to P3 ( Swedish Radio). Just now tried out "Shadowshow". I like it, and yeah, I can see where the Knife guesses came from. All the creepy zentai people drowning themselves because of Näcken.

When Spotify first recommended me "Oh Yeah" by Bat for Lashes (YT link below) I had a slight wtf did I listen to for it to recommend me this weird thing, but then I thought it actually was very cool.
