This is good advice that I know I'll have trouble following, because my biggest temptation is to set grandiose goals and write 5 page To Do lists. So in a way, it will be a much bigger accomplishment to set and achieve a small goal.

I know what you mean. When you're depressed about not accomplishing anything, planning grandiose goals feels like an achievement in itself and you get a little lift from it. But the general advice is not to do this since it's even more disappointing if you can't make them happen.

I find it helpful to physically make lists and tick off tasks, even mundane things like getting up, eating breakfast, taking a shower, reply to e-mails, etc. It sounds dumb, but it helps you get used to the idea of a routine.
