Still waiting on the näcken or fossegrim as the love interest in a YA paranormal romance, although it may have been done already and I just haven't seen it. Less brooding, more humor, fewer love-triangles and more ot3s and "who has time for romance too busy surviving"/"I'm not really into romance but I have an awesome rock collection wanna see." Sometimes mysterious handsome brooding dudes are just assholes and don't drop the assholeness for the sake of the "I'm just kind of average but I'd look stunning with the right dress and makeup" heroine.
