How do I get tumblr (I keep typing that tumblor haha) to stop suggesting a bajillion blogs for me to follow? Even if I click the x, THE SAME BLOGS STILL COME UP LATER on my dashboard. GDI if I wanted to follow the blog, I would be following it. How do I get it to stop? I haven't found anything of the sort in my account settings.

You just learn to ignore it. It is easy.

Less helpful than being told to learn to ignore it now. That learning to ignore it is still pretty easy, you just train your eye to skip over it automatically by always focusing on the blog or moving to the blog as soon as you see the first line of the ad. It takes about a week tops to train your eye to ignore ads on virtually every internet site ever.

I went from 1 or 2 suggestions a day to suddenly 6 or 7 suggestions every time I look at my dash. These are blogs with illustrations that take up a "window" and a half. I will not "learn to ignore" or "skip over" a sudden big ass growth like that.

but really, I think you can use adblock, but it's a pain in the butt to figure out what you're supposed to block since staff changes it around a ton

If you have the new xkit extension and go into the tweaks extension then there's an option to turn it off.

Unfortunately, that only gets rid of the specific suggestion. You'll get more, I think.

As long as I don't have to keep seeing this one blog on my dash over and over and over. Not annoying enough to block, frequent enough to consider it.

The same blog will keep coming up, unfortunately.

I've had the same 3 or 4 come up today multiple times.

Unfollow the tags that would generate those blogs/posts. Tumblr recs blogs and posts based on your followed tags.

How do you follow tags? I don't know that I am, i just reblog stuff I like which is what the suggestions usually are. Do you have to do something in specific to follow tags?

I didn't even know you could 'x' out specific suggestions...I wonder if that's possible on the app as well? (Probably not.)

NGL, I've found quite a few good blogs that way, but every once in a while I'll get a certain blog that I don't care about and tumblr will keep suggesting it and I grow irritated. Don't know how to stop it, though.

You can, but you still get other suggestions. It just closes that *particular* one.

Yea, I gotcha! I meant that I don't know how to stop it completely, though it's nice knowing that you can get rid of particular suggestions! I don't even want to get rid of suggestions completely...they've been useful to me. (Though it would be nice if getting rid of them was an option, since it sounds like many people aren't fond of them.)

All good. I don't *mind* them, but sometimes it seems like i'm getting several to a page, which is very annoying.

There's no setting, you have to use Xkit (http://new-xkit-extension.tumblr.com/) to get rid of them. I recommend using it anyways, because holy fuck, they make that website so much more tolerable. They've got a built-in extension that does the same thing as Tumblr Savior.

Download these google chrome and I think it's good on Firefox too extensions: New_Xkit and Stylish. It'll save your life. I'm surprised you haven't heard of either of them at this point.

Since I only use tumblr to follow a handful of blogs, I don't really get into a whole lot of discussion about the site itself. And the last time I tried to "solve" a tumblr problem, it was a whole bunch of googling that didn't really lead anywhere. So I guess I didn't think about it this time.
