I've read all the Discworld books and admired Pterry for writing the later ones, even while he was seriously ill. But as far as I'm concerned, the last five books aren't canon. I'm not the only one who feels this way, though opinions vary slightly more on I Shall Wear Midnight.

I love Discworld and Pterry desperately, but I don't think of individual books as canon or not canon so much as I just avoid rereading the ones I didn't enjoy as much. I'd say The Colour of Magic and The Light Fantastic bother me almost as much as Raising Steam. Still haven't read The Shepherd's Crown, though, because it's the last.
