I didn't like them at all but people are allowed to have different tastes.

Also, lol you don't want to watch films solely because they look dated. At least say it's because you don't like incest or something.

They wouldn't know about the incest if they hadn't watched the original films and aren't really in the fandom.

And I don't know, I think it's fair to admit that you aren't interested in something because of how they look. I don't watch some war films because the color palette they use is too depressing.

Really? I see the joke everywhere. I assumed it had gone the way of cultural osmosis. Huh.

I go back and forth. I've watched a lot of films from a lot of different decades. I like them all and I can understand that the way something looks can be unpalatable. However, isn't a movie far more than the way it looks? But it's also a heavy visual medium.

Also, considering how old the films are in comparison it's just really weird to me. If there had been more creepy monster gore maybe because the 80's version of that doesn't hold up very well...

As you can see, I'm very much of two minds.

Well, Star Wars is sci-fi so looking dated would probably hurt it a lot more than something from another genre that doesn't depend as much on visuals? I've never seen those films either. Never been interested in that whole side of cinema, so I'm cool with people sidestepping stuff for whatever reasons. Least they're not bashing the movies they haven't seen.

I suppose you're right, yeah. Thank you for expressing your point of view. I appreciate it.
