I really liked the prequels for several reasons.
I think one big reason is that I saw them quite young with no idea of what would happen going in. So George Lucas absolutely destroying the Old Republic and pulling Anakin into hell really shocked me and stayed with me.
I also think they're wonderfully imaginative films, especially visually, and I think, unlike a lot of other films, they're not afraid to give their protagonists deep and even at times unsympathetic flaws (like whininess, cowardice, avarice, condescension, etc.) which makes them feel more human to me.
At the end of the day, you didn't like them and that's your right and a completely legitimate opinion. I respect that.
All I ask is that you offer me the same courtesy.
