Re: What in canon do you ignore?

NAYRT, but I'm so with you on this.

I probably would've liked them if I was a kid- the premise reminds me of thinking up outlandish ways to outclass and overpower friends' characters when playing pretend games at school.

I just think they introduced them way, WAY too late into the series. It'd been established for nearly 20 years when they suddenly introduce these super-powered Pokémon and then try and make it look like they've been there the whole time. It just doesn't work like that and if they were going to do that, there were better ways of doing it.

I also think a lot of them are seriously ugly and the ones that aren't are missed opportunities to give Pokémon that didn't have evolutions a cool one, like Mega Mawile. Why couldn't that have been a genuine evolution? I kind of took exception to them adding so few Kalos Pokémon just to pad the "new" Pokémon numbers out with Megas. It was a cheap shot. I was also a bit salty about Flygon not getting a Mega when Altaria and Salamence did- at least finish the Hoenn Dragon Megas off, guys!

I think I'm basically getting too old for Pokémon, which makes me sad, but that's how it goes I guess.

No, it's because Mega Evolution exists in an alternate timeline. Therefore, in that timeline, they existed.

Also, we know why Kalos has so few original pokemon: the equivalent of a fucking nuke was dropped on it.

But hey, keep complaining. Then you complain when they do come out with more that it's ~so unorginal~ and they're ~running out of ideas~.

I know you're being deliberately obtuse, but if you actually read what I wrote, you'll notice that at no point did I say they were running out of ideas and I even acknowledged that I am probably getting too old for this. If you want to be salty about people saying those kinds of things, you can find them elsewhere for plenty.
