I suppose if they could have done it in a self-aware way it might have grown on me. (Mostly I just wanted Katrina to get away from him because I found him creepy and irritating, and his never-ending love for her and his inability to let go made me hate him. So tbh, as much as I was disappointed with the way the whole Katrina thing went, I was just as disappointed about the Horseman's entire existence; I don't miss him.)
