I appreciate Jar-Jar for the role in the story he has. He's the well-meaning but naive character who gets manipulated into giving Palpatine exactly what he wants, the power to make the moves required to set up the army which will take over the Republic.

I do think Jar-Jar is a bit daft and a bit too much of a comic relief character, but I don't resent him for it, and I don't think he has too much screen-time either (given that the only movie he does have significant screen-time in is TPB).
