I sort of recently rewatched the original and it didn't hold up as well as I remembered, though the animation are phenomenal. I don't feel like Disney or Warner are as good as they once were either, so I don't mind if it'd get development hell'd.

I rewatched it a while back and was kind of disappointed to. I should have liked it more than ever since it was influenced by so much stuff I got into after I watched it the first time, but that's not what happened.
