I've actually considered doing some game-only writing, but I don't really have any fandom friends in FFVII fandom, so nobody to talk it over with.
I'm a very late comer to fandom, and while I did actually watch AC before I played the original, I have no problem ignoring it as far as plot/characterization is concerned because it was annoying. It was annoying even without having played the game...
