The real question, to me, is wouldn't the healings and returning from the dead stuff fix the brain damage too?
It could actually be interesting, a post-first-revival Goku having this inner conflict between who he became and a resurgence of his original instincts. I wonder if there's fic like that.

Halfway through this discussion I realized that nothing has to make sense in this universe, because DB rules are basically the epitome of arbitrary hand-waving.
