Re: Crushing on/falling for fictional characters

It's pretty literal for me. Like I'm fucking in love with this fictional character and I know how crazy I am for it. But like I seriously feel like my life would be a lot emptier without this idea of a person for me to sympathize with.

I'm the anon from just upthread. I feel this way about ships rather than individual characters, but I definitely know of what you speak. This is exactly how I feel about my OTP(s).

Also, I don't think it's that weird. So many people fall for their idea of a person and it takes them ages to realize/accept that the person they're with is simply not the person they were imagining. Yet that's treated as pretty normal, and just one of the standard pitfalls of romance or whatever (which is fine; no judgement from my corner). Yet here we are, minding our own business and enjoying the fantasy, without kidding ourselves that it's reality, and somehow that's supposed to be weird and embarrassing? Lol, nah.
