I would laugh my ass off if any of the BBWA's little old men were reading F!S right now. It would be the best thing ever. Anyway, this is a very plausible scenario, yes. Jones also had injuries and weight problems...

On the other hand, I also believe that Pujols' age is probably correct; that "suspect" HS pic of him is reasonable for a big strong guy. I knew a guy like that- he was a natural pick to play the Beast in "Beauty & the Beast", but he was absolutely 18 years old. And if Pujols is 2+ years older than he states to be (currently 35), what he's accomplished the past couple years is freaking crazy. If his age is off, it is off by no more than 6 months, in order to have a birthdate in January 1980 rather than fall/winter 1979. A later calendar year, but developmentally insignificant.
