The prices you quoted me were so high I seriously thought you were exaggerating. Because, I mean, Vancouver is routinely ranked in the top five places in the world to live, and rent is lower here.

But holy shit, nope, not exaggerating. What I'm getting from the articles I'm reading is that tech companies are bringing in employees who are making big bucks, which is driving living prices up, plus Seattle's got too many free standing houses and not enough high rises to accommodate its booming population, plus you guy have got no rent control?

That sucks. Especially the no rent control thing. With my anxiety I could never live anywhere that didn't have rent control. I'd spend my entire life convinced I was about to end up homeless (which apparently is not that far off from what's happening to a lot of people in Seattle right now). Yikes.
