Oh, dear, I finished my popcorn!

TBH, she's not really helping herself by taking the role of a male transvestite.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-11 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
Uh, what? SHE considers herself a woman and has gone through the transitioning process, ergo, she IS a woman.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-11 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
My controversial opinion is that a transwoman can never be a woman. I find it very uncomfortable that transwomen are still in a position of privilege where they can demand to be woman and no woman who feels uncomfortable with this is allowed to have a differing view.

For example - female changing rooms. If a transwoman still has male genitalia and is changing in an open female changing room, women are not allowed to raise the issue or say they're uncomfortable.

Another example - a transwoman is working as a rape counsellor, a woman is not allowed to say that this makes her feel uncomfortable.

Transwomen have the right to identify as women but must also accept that they are not women and women should have the right to voice discomfort.

Transwomen "must accept that they are not women"? You are such an asshole. Don't worry, plenty of cis-women are just as awful and transphobic as you -- you're opinion is not that controversial.

I really don't think telling people they're awful for not being comfortable with something is very productive. Instead of shouting down someone's opinion perhaps listen to their concerns and feelings then help them understand why they're unfounded.

Give it up, Germaine, you're done.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-11 12:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, let's silence a woman's opinion.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-11 03:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Kill yourself.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-11 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, that really makes your point valid. Knob.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-11 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, so we're worried about who makes us uncomfortable in the locker room? What if it's a woman of color that makes you uncomfortable? Or an amputee? A woman covered in burn scars or maybe had a mastectomy leaving a scarred chest? What if they're just fat and that makes you uncomfortable...do they have to be kicked out too? Or are you expected to just keep to yourself and suck it up?

Also there's a world of difference between a survivor uncomfortable with her rape counselor for whatever reason and "My controversial opinion is that a transwoman can never be a woman". Those are NOT the same ideas.
