+1

I actually liked Katrina and I think good writing could have made her pretty interesting.

Pandora? She's just there and I don't care, because here plot doesn't seem to be going anywhere or at least the writers are too focused on random enigmatic scenes to give some foreshadowing on what's her goal/motivations

Ross? She's a walking cliché and there's nothing that makes here even fun to watch.
And while Ichabod knowing everyone/being everywhere that mattered in history is amusing if a little eye roll worthy, Ross having been everywhere to solve everything is even worse.

Yeah, I think that's the problem with Pandora. All of her scenes hint at stuff, but they're very samey and they're stretching it out too long.

I don't care for the Betsy Ross character so far. It's a good start, the whole spy/adventuress thing, but there's no depth to it unlike the Mills sisters.

*nods* Already bored to tears by Pandora's scenes. I'm OK with a brief tease or two, but week after week? STOP TOYING WITH US, I DON'T CARE ALREADY. Pandora can have the most amazing arc in store for us but it doesn't matter anymore, I've got such a hate on for this protracted "suspense" thing.

As for Ross, she's just a two-dimensional love interest in 'titillating' attire and a dead one at that. I get that the writers are probably trying to give us Feisty Female Characters, but I'd much prefer interesting and complex ones... like the Mills sisters *sigh of wistfulness*

Plus "Feisty" doesn't necessarily need to mean ass-kicking. There's some women who count merely because they don't put up with things, but aren't combat oriented. Heck, I find the Mills' sister's ancestor to be amazing, and she's in no way a swashbuckler or anything; just smart, quick and ready to do what she can.

nayrt

Exactly. The Ross character is... generically feisty, for lack of a better description. She's got all the superficial traits of a strong female heroine but we see nothing of her as a person. There's nothing beyond the sexy corsets and guns, at least not so far.

Ichabod being The Man Who Was Everywhere is fun, but sharing that schtick with Betsy Ross makes it half as cute.

I was hopeful about Pandora in the beginning and the actress is not to blame, but her evil potential has been wasted. I defended the show last season but this year I gave up. I am so disappointed.

I like the concept for the Ross character-I love the idea of her being an undercover spy and all that sort of thing. But I want to see much more of that side of her character, being all kickass and awesome, and less of the romantic side of things. It does sound a bit like she's struggling with the same thing Katrina did. Katrina on paper sounded like an awesome character, but unfortunately the show never really did much with that side of her and she got caught up in that whole "going back and forth between Abraham and Ichabod" thing instead.

That said, I still like her overall, the way I did Katrina. *Shrugs* As for Nikki, it's been so long since I've seen 'Twilight' that I can't really recall how she was in it (or even who she played, for that matter), but outside of that I don't really have an opinion on her acting skills one way or another.

Busty Ross is ridiculous for a bunch of reasons from the acting to the costume to the way her existence screws with Crane's timeline to the way she makes Crane looks really stupid for not noticing that the woman he spends all his time with is meddling in supernatural stuff every other day.

Pandora, on the other hand, I like. She has an air of subtle menace about her. However, if the writers don't put their cards on the table very soon about what she's trying to accomplish, I'm going to lose patience. I don't blame other viewers for already being at that point. A little mystery adds spice to a show. All mystery all the time is like trying to do the cinnamon challenge.

Pandora's okay

Katrina's actress was fine. It was the terrible, terrible writing that doomed that character. She could have been interesting and her relationships could have been meaningful and poignant. Hell, this season could have been about her being evil over what happened to her son and Ichabod trying to deal with it, and the Headless Horseman trying to keep up with her.

Pandora has potential, but as has been pointed out: she's really just standing around casting spells right now. No motivation, no reason for doing anything except maybe evulz.

Ross and her actress can fuck right on off back to where they came from. It is painfully obvious that the casting director does not love us, the viewers, enough.

I love Shannyn Sossamon, but this casting is so not up to par for what she can do. It's almost as if this is a throw away season.

So agreeing with the OP over Nikki Reed. Her parts take me completely out of the flashbacks, and it's not because I don't believe there could be badass lady spies. I just don't believe her as one of them in that time period. Next to Tom Mison, she seems harsh.

Nikki Reed sticks out like a sore thumb when it comes to acting. The fact that her character is pretty one dimensional so far doesn't help at all, but her mediocrity is more conspicuous because everyone else is noticeably better.
