Do you have to lie? Like, you said yourself you can't leave work early cause you don't want to/can't make up the time. Then all you've gotta do is get a friend or family member to need you for some reason at an inconvenient time. Heck, ask your sister to see if she has a reason to not be there and maybe she can pull you with her.
