You just have to start out small! More than anything, it's about being 100% comfortable with how your body moves, and knowing ahead of time how an impact on something is going to absorb/how to mitigate it. A good starting point is learning how to run down a good-sized hill with no hesitation or baby steps; it's like a trust exercise with your body.

Oh, I totally believe you! There's no way a person could jump right into it without a good deal of practice and trial and error, but I also don't think my body is in good enough shape, not am I limber enough. Lol. But at the very least I love watching other people do it! (And yea, it would be a neat skill to have. I'm sure it requires a great deal of dedication, though.)
