I remember seeing a behind the scenes thing where apparently that was something the creators/actors/etc were asked A LOT (because really, she is gorgeous.)

Apparently the reasoning was that, "It doesn't matter who it is, when it's your wife you don't see it." So yeah, that was basically the whole joke was that Peggy was hot but because they got married Al could no longer see her that way.

That's a pretty sad indictment of marriage. I've been married more than a decade and my husband still tells me I look hot.
