Ah.

In that case... yes, equipping rebels in Syria probably did contribute to the situation, but it didn't cause it. There would have been huge amounts of chaos and extremism regardless of whether we equipped the rebels. It was not a wise move. Though still probably smarter than the Iraq invasion from that point of view. It hasn't been a good 20 years in Mideast policy, really.

hahaha, no, pretty much sure Syria's government are fucked up by now. Don't even think they could keep up with their own people running elsewhere.
