a foot of water can go quite far across flat surface. while damage isn't immediately obvious to people, that settled water does major long term damage, kills crops, poisons drinking water and destroys buildings/roads/walkways. not to mention the spread of disease and disease spreading insects.

so...yeah, re-evaluate. Just because it wasn't a big loud event that "looks not fine" doesn't mean it doesn't fuck things up. especially in areas all ready trying to recover, it just adds an extra layer of damage to existing efforts.

and...people can give a shit about multiple places at once. you don't have one location care quota per day. it's not a competition.

The thing is that people are mindlessly parroting the "18.000 dead or missing" number without any of them doing a quick date check on that info.
To rehash the whole "pray for Japan" thing now when literally nothing happened is a bit weird. The biggest news in Japan right now is the things that are/have been happening in Paris.
